Are the AMD Radeon Rx 6800 XT & RX 6800 good for creators?

You might have noticed that it wasn’t just Apple who launched brand new and potentially revolutionary hardware during the last week. AMD Radeon launched the RX 6800 XT and RX 6800, which are for the first time in many years, comparable to what NVIDIA is offering at the higher end in terms of performance and pricing. At least, when it comes to gaming. As NVIDIA GeForce cards are meant for gaming too but perform brilliantly in creative applications, does that mean that creatives can finally pick up a card from someone other than NVIDIA?...

Everything new in Lightroom Classic version 10

Adobe has just released Lightroom Classic version 10. I’m well aware that version numbers don’t mean all too much when dealing with subscription applications because features get released as soon as they’re ready for the masses and aren’t held back for a paid upgrade just as they used to be with Lightroom Classic back when it was still called Photoshop Lightroom. And of course, different companies and even different teams within the same company handle version numbers very differently....

Analysing RTX 3080 and RTX 3090 benchmarks for creative applications

About a month ago I released a video in which I discussed whether us creatives should be considering the new RTX 3080 or even the absolutely insane GPU that is the RTX 3090 for our creative applications. And I came to the conclusion that we almost certainly won’t need one unless our hardware is seriously outdated. Well, we now have a definite answer as to whether we should upgrade or not....

How to use the Lightroom Classic Quick Collection

The Lightroom Classic Quick Collection. That confusing field you might have never used which sits above the previous imports. The Quick Collection is not part of your custom and smart collections. Instead, it has its own little place underneath the Catalog tab. You might have dismissed the Quick Collection as a useless feature but I’m here to tell you that maybe you should reconsider that thought. Let’s take a look at how the Lightroom Classic Quick Collection works and what you can do with it....

How to save time with export presets in Lightroom Classic

On the one hand working in Lightroom Classic can be an adventure. Seeing your photo change as you move the slider sliders, adjust the curves, and add filters can be quite exhilarating. But, on the other, there are many mundane and monotonous things you’ll find yourself doing before and after each edit. That includes things such as backing up your catalog, building previews, and dialing in the right export settings....

Should creators care about the RTX 30 series?

Nvidia has just announced three new and very powerful GPUs. As a nerd, this obviously interests me. But how can I make a post on these new RTX graphics cards relevant to photography/videography? Well GPUs play an ever increasingly important role in video and photo editing. How to set up Logitech MX Master 3 for Lightroom Classic

The Logitech MX Master 3 is my newest and so far the favourite mouse I have ever owned. As a long-time user of the original Logitech MX Master (after many years the scroll-wheel started acting up), the third iteration of this series feels like a big upgrade to me. <div class="wp-block-embed__wrapper"> </div></figure> <div class="gb-button-wrapper gb-button-wrapper-deed192e"> <a class="gb-button gb-button-fa79c192" href="https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCsI0-Q8XvCuGPw1RPtH8nbA?sub_confirmation=1"><span class="gb-icon"><svg aria-hidden="true" height="1em" width="1em" viewBox="0 0 576 512" xmlns="https://www.w3.org/2000/svg"><path fill="currentColor" d="M549.655 124....

Lightroom vs Lightroom Classic as fast as possible

Today we’ll be looking at the differences between Lightroom Classic and the new Lightroom in as few paragraphs as possible. I will try to keep it as short as possible, and yet I’ll try to cover the basics and more advanced features each individual application offers. Without any further ado, let’s get into it. I will be keeping my wording consistent throughout this article. Lightroom Classic, which used to be called Lightroom, will be referred to as, you guessed it, Lightroom Classic....
